Health is not a destination, but a journey.

Let’s do this together.

I always knew I wanted to help others. Even as a young child, I understood the importance of health and wellness, and I was only drawn closer to it as I got older. In fact, I almost switched to business in high school; however, I quickly realized just how much I loved science and pivoted right back, having to take chemistry in night school just to catch up and meet my prerequisites for undergraduate applications. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made.

This path led me to undergrad, where I completed my Bachelor of Health Science, and went on to receive my Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. It wasn’t until my final year of clinical training that I began to truly recognize the gap in women’s healthcare. Even with the textbook knowledge, it was eye-opening to see firsthand how differently and disproportionately women are affected by the conditions chiropractors treat every day, including chronic neck and spine pain, temporomandibular (TMJ)/jaw pain, headaches, osteoporosis, frozen shoulder, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and joint stiffness, only to name a few. Yet, during routine history-taking, questions about pivotal hormonal milestones and female reproductive health were often missed, overlooked, or even dismissed.

The turning point came when I had the opportunity to complete a health interview with a postmenopausal woman. We spoke openly about her pregnancies, miscarriages, reproductive health, and her journey through perimenopause and menopause. She told me this was the first time she had anyone ask her such questions in such detail and had taken the time to listen. I was surprised because I assumed this was standard practice. She was so moved by the experience that the next time I met her, she informed me that she told all her close female friends and family about it, emphasizing that every woman deserves this level of care.

This experience shaped how I provide care today.

Areas of Clinical Interest

Jaw, neck, and headache care

Chiropractic covers a lot. These are the areas I’ve chosen to spend extra time on.

A woman with natural curly hair styled in twists, with a relaxed expression and closed eyes, highlighting areas of headaches, jaw and facial pain, and neck pain, all areas Dr. Gurinder focuses her care on.

English, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ, or often both

I serve patients in English and Punjabi. Sometimes the clearest way to describe a pain is in the language you grew up with, and you’re welcome to use it here.
